How we look after your details.

Who we are

Kith & Kin Travel is a sole proprietorship run by Alvaro Illan Fernandez, an independent travel advisor affiliated with Fora Travel, Inc. We decide how the details you share with us are used, and we're responsible for looking after them. You can reach us at alvaro@kithandkintravel.com.

What we collect

• When you write to us: your name, email address, where you'd like to go and anything you put in your message.
• When you book a call: Calendly takes the booking, with your name, email and the time you choose. Calendly's own privacy policy covers what it does with them.
• When we plan a trip together: what we need to book it, such as travellers' names, dates of birth, passport details, phone numbers, and needs like diet or accessibility. If you give us details for people travelling with you, please check they're happy for you to share them.
• When you visit this site: our web host keeps standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed, to keep the site running and secure. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which also sees your IP address. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies, though the Calendly calendar may set its own cookies when it loads.

How we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and talk about your trip.
• To plan, book and look after your trip, including sending documents and updates while you travel.
• To keep the records the law requires, such as for tax and accounting.

We won't send you marketing emails unless you ask for them. If you're in the UK or European Union, the law asks us to name a legal basis: we use your details to arrange the trip you asked for and to meet our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

• Fora Travel, Inc., our host agency. Every booking is made through Fora, so Fora receives the details each booking needs. See Fora's privacy policy.
• The suppliers who make your trip happen: hotels, airlines, cruise lines, tour operators, guides and drivers, each receiving only what they need.
• Services that help us run the business: Google for email, Calendly for scheduling, and our website host. They handle your details on our behalf.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

Travel means some of these are in other countries, including outside the UK and European Union. When we send your details abroad, it's to deliver the trip you asked for.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that don't become a trip: deleted once it's clear the trip isn't going ahead.
• Trips we book: kept while we plan and look after your trip. Once it's over and everything is settled, we delete it all except the booking records that tax and accounting law requires us to keep, and delete those when that period ends.

You can ask us to delete your details sooner, unless the law requires us to keep them.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to:

• show you the details we hold about you, and give you a copy
• correct anything that's wrong
• delete your details
• stop using them for a particular purpose

Write to alvaro@kithandkintravel.com. We'll reply within 30 days, free of charge, wherever you live. If you're in the UK or European Union and unhappy with how we've handled your details, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable care to keep your details secure and share them only as this page describes. This website never asks for card details: payments go to Fora or to the supplier directly.

Children

This site isn't meant for children. We take children's details only from a parent or guardian, for a family trip.

Changes to this page

If we change how we use your details, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
